“Do not answer a fool according to his folly or you yourself will be just like him.” Proverbs 26:4
Good morning ya’ll. I pray that you have a spectacular day today. Yesterday for the first time ever in my life I went to New York. When I say I have not seen anything quite like it I mean only on television and never in real life have I ever seen so much and so many. I could only imagine what it must be like to live that way everyday. As we walked through the city I noticed just how many people simply push their way past others with little regard for the others around them. I thought how many of these people simply prefer to blend in and never be noticed or known amongst the massive sea of people that NYC sees everyday. This scripture from Proverbs made me think of all of those many people we walked by and how of them were foolish enough to think that they are never known or noticed by anyone. No matter how fast they walk or how low they hang their heads, God still sees them. God still knows their hearts. God does not miss knowing even one single stand of hair on their heads. Isn’t it a true blessing and gift to know that our Heavenly Father is never too busy to know our hearts, our desires, our fears and our needs and help each and every one of us with those things no matter where we are. Foolish are those who think that our own foolish ways can be hidden among seas of people, big city buildings or behind fake facades we have created. Wise our those who allow God to see our hearts every part, our true motives and our lives and we let God help us and lead us to and along the good and right paths where He can bring us true joy, true happiness, true love and true peace. Let us be wise and seek God every day.
Have a marvelous day today.

“Like a snow-cooled drink at harvest time is a trustworthy messenger to the one who sends him (or her).” Proverbs 25:13
Good morning ya’ll. I pray that you have a fantastic day today. This is what I strive to be everyday. Whether through my morning messages or through speaking to someone at work to lift their spirits or to show them support, I want to know that I have served God well everyday. I was blessed to have stumbled upon my gift for creating these messages more than 3 years ago and it is my hope that I can continue them until my last breath is taken. I have recently added a favorite song to my “praise and worship” list called “So will I” and towards the end the singer belts the line, “if You gave Your life to love them so will I”. It is my joy, privilege and blessing to be able to serve and show others love each new day in the hopes that My Father in Heaven would be pleased with how I have served and honored Him. Granted somedays it’s easier than other days to do this as we are all liable to encounter “bad days”, but I think to myself, if we all could truly live our lives to make God pleased instead of just trying to please ourselves, and if we truly lived each day seeking to “Give our lives to love each other” as Jesus loved us, what a beautifully repaired world we would create for each other, for our children and our children’s children and for our Most High Father and our beloved Savior. Amen!
Have an amazing day today.

“Do not envy the wicked, do not desire their company.” Proverbs 24:1
Good morning ya’ll. I pray that you have a beautifully blessed day today. If you received a phone call right now telling you that you could spend the day with your absolute favorite famous person or you could spend your day with Jesus, who would you choose? Be honest in your answer. Plenty upon plenty of people would choose the famous person. They may not know the awesome gift that Jesus is as we do. Whether they do or not the idea of being a little bit awe-struck to be chilling with a well known famous person could be just too tempting to pass up. We look to those who are famous and we think, “oh, how nice must that be to have all of that money and not to ever have to worry about bills or finances again.” But some of these people may have had to do things they are none too proud of to get to where they are now. Shucks, some people who are not famous at all may have done even unspeakable things to get to the positions that they are in. Have we ever given much thought to their views of us-The followers of Christ? Those of us who have an illuminating spirit because we know and walk with Jesus. They very well could be envious of us. Let us not look at those who seem to have the “perfect, flawless life” and choose to be jealous. Instead let us choose to be happy for their success and let us pray for the salvation of those who have done terrible things to gain their positions and let us look upon our own blessings and always be filled with praise and joy and happiness. For these are the wonderful blessings that God has chosen just for us.
Have a magnificent day today.

“The generous will themselves be blessed.” Proverbs 22:9
Good morning ya’ll. I pray that you have a terrific day today. Years ago I was involved with a man who said to me one time the well known line, “no good deed goes unpunished.” I began to believe this sentiment and then the more I believed it the more I began to see this come to pass. Then I began to grow in my relationship with God and with Jesus. I began to learn scripture better, and I listened to sermons that preached to me that doing good will bring good. Perhaps not where we expected to see the good from. Perhaps not in return from those we did good for, but take this Promise from Proverbs 22:9 to heart. “The generous will themselves be blessed.” Where is God calling us to be more generous in our lives? Is He calling us to be more generous with our finances? With our time? With our hearts? With our gifts? Talents? Resources? “Give and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap.” Luke 6:38. God wants to give to us. He wants to give us the abundance of our hearts, but God also takes great delight and joy in seeing us share generously of our ourselves to others as He has called us to. Today, let us choose to be generous, not to see what blessings God will give us, but to show the world what a blessing our God is to us.
Have a great day today.

“There is no wisdom, no insight, no plan that can succeed against the Lord.” Proverbs 21:30
Good morning ya’ll. I pray that you have an absolutely amazing day today. Have you ever felt like everyone in the universe was against you? Or what about this? Have you ever thought, surely so and so will get the recognition and promotion, not me. Why would they even notice me? This Proverb reminds us of just how big, gigantic, enormous our God is even when we feel like the whole world is against us. Even when we think that there’s simply no way. Even our own doubts and fears can’t keep God from bringing victory to us. If He wants us in a better position in life, at work, in our family, in our relationships, He will not hesitate to make sure that we are exalted and renewed. Even when the boss doesn’t want to see you succeed God’s plans trump that. Even when the guys at school don’t want to see you do better than them, God’s plans trump that. Even when the doctor says there’s simply no way, God’s plan trumps that. God can open doors no human can open and when he closes doors He can open bigger and better ones despite our own fears, worries and doubts. God’s good plan will always succeed this we can always be certain of in our lives and in the lives of all those we love and all those we pray for. If you think that your prayers don’t matter, just remember the gigantic ways God has moved in the bible simply responding to broken yet faith-filled prayers and shaking voiced praises. He lives! He loves! Forever He reigns! Amen!
Have a spectacular day today

“The one who cherishes understanding will soon prosper.” Proverbs 19:8
Good evening ya’ll. I pray that you have a splendid day today. Friday was an extremely emotional and upsetting day for me because of a not so pleasant work environment. I spent the majority of my day either stewing in frustration over the issue or complaining to others about the issue, mean while I missed the grieving that too many broken hearted loved ones were suddenly facing in Texas following another high school shooting. This matters and I completely understand that, but I let my frustrations get the best of me to the point that I completely turned my focus inward and missed spending more time in prayer and in mourning with those who lost their loved ones so suddenly and tragically. How my heart breaks for them all and how I so wish that my prayers could return all those who were killed back to their families. To prosper from gaining understanding is more than just monetary provisions. It is prospering in our hearts so that we don’t miss what matters most because we are so focused on the minute and insignificant things which in a little while will be forgotten, but those lives lost yesterday will never be forgotten. Just like me last night at bedtime and first thing this morning, ask God for help in understanding better so that He can help us see what truly matters most.

“Better a patient person than a warrior…” Proverbs 16:25
Good morning ya’ll. I pray that you have a wonderful day today. The words from this Proverb speaks to me in so many ways. I might be alone in this, but feel free to chime in if I’m not alone…I have tried to be the warrior in many circumstances in my life where I look back now and see that had I simply been patient and trusted God, I would have saved energy and I would have seen God be the better warrior to bring me my victory. I think of how when my youngest son, Stephen was younger and he and my nephew, Ty, used to get into little fights. Stephen would come running to tell me how Ty had done something wrong insisting that I do something to reprimand him. Meanwhile here would come Ty already in tears from where Stephen had already “punished” Ty himself. I would tell Stephen, “well you have already taken matters into your own hands, there’s nothing else that I need to do to discipline Ty.” Stephen usually didn’t like this answer because like all of us, he thought that there should be justice, but he had already decided the outcome forgoing the chance to look to me as the parent to possibly bring about a better resolution. Aren’t we much the same way. We want to take matters into our own hands then also run to God and say, “Hey, aren’t You going to do something?” God wants us to show Him how much we trust Him by being patient in the waiting and patient through the storms. Like me we all likely have our own storms we are weathering, and we can choose to breathe and be patient trusting with our whole hearts our God who promises to never leave us or we can try to take matters into our own hands and never know if the outcome could have been much better if we had only been patient and waited on our Fathers hands to bring us the very best outcome.
Have an amazing day today.

“A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.” Proverbs 15:1
Good morning ya’ll. I pray that you have a terrific day today. We have all been witness to this in our own lives. When we respond gently and calmly to a situation we are more likely to see the potentially hostile situation diffused and talked out, but when we choose to respond harshly we will likely see the entire situation blow up and sometimes become a bigger deal than we ever should have let it become. I made this mistake yesterday and immediately I regretted my decision. I heard my own previous words echo in my head when I told my son and my nephew not to confront the very same man I had just confronted. The way I responded yesterday I am not proud of and if I could take it back I would. I would prefer to see a person who tries to cause strife and anger be dealt with by God as opposed to me or my family members trying to deal with them, potentially putting themselves (or myself when I do this) in harm’s way. It’s not more important to win the dual, it’s more important to be standing in righteousness and sharing and shining God’s radiant light and love. “Father for all of us hot headed, quick tempered children of Yours please provide us faster wisdom and grace to respond gently as opposed to responding in negative ways, ways which we know do not honor and glorify You at all. In Jesus name I pray. Amen!”
Have a spectacular day today

“A quick tempered person does foolish things.” Proverbs 14:13
Good morning ya’ll. I pray that you have a marvelous day today. Can I start off this message with a confession? I wasn’t always a peaceful and calm person. I lived through times in my life, when I was much younger, when my temper could quickly flare up. I can recall one particular Halloween when I was trying to carve pumpkins with my boys and I had just come home from a very long day at work. I became so frustrated at the process that I lost my temper, so much that my neighbors came over and offered to help us finish carving the pumpkins. I felt like a failure as a mother after that frustrated and none too proud moment. The thing is that my boys and I had before and many, many times after, had awesome and fun memories of Halloween’s, trick or treating and yes even pumpkin carving, but the enemy has this tricky little way of making us become so focused on beating ourselves up over our not so proud moments that we forget the fun and happy ones only to dwell on the bad ones because we wish we could go back and change those moments. I have learned, and I am still learning, to take deep breaths, listen fully before responding and trying to understand where other people are coming from before responding in a quick tempered kind of way. This will always help us all to avoid negative confrontations, it will help us to avoid creating not so proud moments, and it will help us to respond in wise and good ways, not to respond in foolish ways which we then can not change and we can not take back.
Have a peaceful and joyful day today.

“A good person leaves an inheritance for their children’s children.” Proverbs 13:22
Good morning ya’ll. I pray that you have a marvelous day today. When I first read this scripture I think only in terms of money, but as I placed this in the message for today I saw it from a whole different perspective, our inheritance is Jesus, is the kingdom of God, is wisdom and guidance, is the Holy Spirit living within us. These things, which are far more valuable and important than money, are the inheritance we are meant to leave behind for our children’s children. One of the best ways for us to leave this inheritance is by living the example of a righteous life for all to see. When we live our lives freely sharing the love of Christ, teaching, without fear, the word of God, allowing God’s good blessings in our lives to overflow and bless others, all the ways that we can live our lives to show and share God’s presence within us is always building up our inheritance for our children and our children’s children. This also swings the negative way as well. I recall when Stephen was little I kept hearing a squeaky sound whenever I steeped on the brakes in my car. When I heard this I would say, “what the H-E- double hockey sticks is that.” Until one day I stepped on the brakes, the squeaky noise arose and Stephen beat me to my usual questioning comment. I quickly stopped asking that question in that manner. Our children are watching us closer than we think and we can choose to let them see, learn and mirror our negative traits or we can choose to leave them the best inheritance we can ever give them, the love, light and presence of Christ in our hearts.
Have a great day today
